Global Tea Time

Road trips to tea shops are fun, but a bit dangerous to the wallet. Of course I had a postcard to get 10% off. I also only shop there a few times per year. I brought a friend with me this time, and it was great fun. We stopped at Big Lots fist. She hadn't been to one in years. She said that she had to take a picture of it and text it to her sister. They used to go to Big Lots together when she lived in Oklahoma. I started laughing and had to explain that when I visited a Big Lots store recently I had to text a picture of it to my sister because we both liked shopping there. I guess it's the store for sisters. Then we went out for tea. A lot has changed since the plague began. Unfortunately we could not order pots of tea to share, we could only get our tea in disposable cups. They also had a lot of new tea ware (they always do). I fell in love with a cup from Japan. My tea stash is running low. I'm trying to run the stockpile down a bit before I get some more tea. I've really wanted black tea lateley, and of course I don't have much left. I have enough Nandi Hills (small batch Kenyan black tea) tea for one more pot, maybe a small cup on the side. I still have some golden pu erh, which is kind of a black tea, but not exactly. I recently moved to a new apartment. It was a traumatic move - I moved because of a landlord acting VERY inappropriately. When I made a list of places I needed to submit my address change to, I included my favorite tea shop. I emailed them last month asking if they would update my address in their system so I would not miss out on their postcards. They replied that they would happily update their system, and thankfully I received my postcard. I also think that I kind of made it into their monthly email newsletter.
