Blooming Tea 12

I've reached the last blooming tea in the box. Who knew that this would provide 6 months of entertainment? The last marble in the box was called love at first sight. I can't say that I'm seeing any love in the world lately, but whatever. The past wasn't better, and the future doesn't look like it will be either. I think that this is supposed to be rose flavored. The package says green tea with rose flower. Maybe rose scented? I don't detect anything rose about this tea. It does have a couple of bright red flowers that pop out of it and look kind of like clover or raspberries. I don't know that this one was so much of a floater as it just got stuck in the middle of the glass of water. I got a chopstick to shove it down and found that it needed a pretty good push just to get to the bottom of the glass. I thought it was an arch design until I looked at the picture again. While both columns are supposed to be the same height, at first it looked to me like

Today we take a break from love themed blooming teas for a simple blueberry one. The tea did have a pleasant smell when I opened the package. Its been a busy week. I took some time off work, and went on a rampage to use up what is left of my fabric stash. I come from a family where you must save everything for someday. The problem is that someday never comes. Well, I decided someday is here. I also have minimal contact with my more toxic family members, so they can't judge me for wanting to have less stuff to lug around from apartment to apartment every few years. So I made some quilt tops. They are just for throw quilts, not a full size bed quilt. I don't have the equipment to really quilt them nicely, but I can quilt them well enough with my regular sewing machine. Now I have a lot of quilting to do. I discovered that I already had a quilt batting stashed away after I bought another one, so now I don't have to worry about whether these will all fit on one. I think it

Cold brew tea

Lately I've been looking for some good herbal teas. I don't really like the water in the town where I live. It has a bad flavor, and I need something to cover it up. Lemon will help a little, but I'm always looking for caffeine free options to flavor my water so I will drink enough of it. I find that carbohydrates increase inflammation, so I try to avoid them if possible. I tried a couple of no/low calorie water flavoring agents, but they are disgusting. There is a definite artificial sweetner aftertaste to these, not to mention what artificial sweetners sometimes do to my GI tract. Since these are not viable options for water flavoring, I stumbled across some cold brew teas on sale at the grocery store this morning. I figured it was worth giving them a try. There were 2 flavors, and I chose the one that sounded the best. Strawberry lemon orange blossom sounds good, doesn't it? You're supposed to let them steep in cool water for a minimum of 8 minutes, and these
