Blooming tea 6
Ugh, my allergies have been going crazy the last few days. I took a hard look around the house, and banished the lavender plant to the outdoors and turned on all my air filters to see if things get better. Right now I'm looking at my sinuses with a glare saying this is why we can't have anything nice. My anger at my sinuses is about as effective as a parent's anger at their child. A child can't help being a child, and my sinuses can't help the fact that they are irritated by everything (or so it seems everything). I've even been cutting back on my tea guzzling a bit to see if that would help. That brings us to today's blooming tea. I won't be tempted to drink this stuff. I was a bit amused when I pulled the tea marble out of the package. It had a bit of a different shape.
Isn't that sweet, floral sunset looks like a heart... or a butt depending on the angle and your perspective on life.
As you can see from the package, it is supposed to be another lovely creation that sits and looks beautiful in the bottom of your teapot. I went and checked on the progress of this latest creation to find it slumped over on its side.
I don't think this is the presentation they intended.
I did get out a spoon to coax it to an upright position, and you can kind of see that they intended to have a string of white flowers form an arch over the main piece of the tea. I tried adding more water to see if it would situate better and allow the arch to float. Instead, it flopped back over on its side.
I guess the tea is a lot like April. We have high expectations of things getting better, then reality sets in. At least I've had some time to craft. One of my friends is feeling really down right now, and since she only ever had one my little pony as a child (cotton candy), I decided to make her a pony. I don't know what her feelings on Fluttershy are, but I had yarn in the right colors to make her. Maybe I'll get a few more done before I see her again. I need to do some deeper digging in the yarn stash.
I thought the marble looked kind of like a dead bird.
ReplyDeleteThe pony looks good, though!
Thanks to amigurumi crafty kids with a lot of yarn can make knockoffs of toys they want. The same can be said of adults who are too cheap to go out and buy the toys they wanted as kids.
