Spice Dragon Red Chai

The end of the year holidays are a strange time of year. We have Christmas where people pretend to like their family and spend way too much money on trying to make their life into something it is not. Then there's the new year when people pretend that things will be different and somehow better. I also have a friend who is dying a horribly painful death thanks to a brain tumor. I have another friend lamenting on social media how Christmas seems sadder and more subdued this year. She recently shared that her cancer spread to her brain and she was given a year or less to live. Thankfully I have some friends who are not dying, and I was able to go to their house for Christmas. It was a smaller gathering than usual because of all the respiratory illnesses going around. Thankfully I can get free COVID tests through my health insurance, so I shoved a swab up my nose, and went to brunch when I got the all clear. This year's tea related gift was a box of 52 Stash brand tea bags. All told there are 29 different flavors of tea in it.
As you can see in the background, I searched the after Christmas sales for ornament hangers and ended up buying these on Amazon because apparently local retailers do not sell them. So much for finding them cheap (they weren't too expensive, but not 75% off like all the stuff in the stores). They do display my 2-D lace stars nicely, and the snowflakes also have a home for the winter. Anyway, back to the tea. It's evening, and I wanted something without caffeine. Thankfully half of the box is either caffeine free or decaf. Tonight's selection sounds like something from the far east. Spice dragon red chai. I feel like I should be drinking this with my dragon tea pet, but I was too lazy to get it out.
It is a nice balance of cinnamon, rooibos, ginger, and clove. The spices in this are perfectly balanced. It doesn't taste like rooibos, and the spices are not too hot or sharp. I used to think that I didn't like tea with cinnamon in it because the cinnamon was always too strong. Now I know that I don't like poorly blended cinnamon teas.
This does look like a rooibos tea. Some people think that rooibos is calming. I certainly hope so. I could use some calm. I'm having one of those nights where I'm kind of hungry but nothing sounds good, so I'm having some tea instead. I kind of want to pretend that I'm a tea bag and go soak in some hot water, but my skin is really dry right now, so that's probably not a good idea. Even though the days are getting longer, it is a long time until spring. At least I have enough tea to keep me going for a while.
Since it is winter, everything is going to be a while. At least nature made me some white lace trees to look at this morning.
